The Gel-1090 is an accessible, versatile running silhouette that originally made its way to market in 2004. It's an interesting touchpoint from a largely unexplored phrase in running footwear history.
Arriving in a “Silver/Steel Grey” colorway, the 1090 flaunts a veritable plethora of metallic silver overlays, trimmed with black and sitting on top of a crisp white mesh base. However, the design is far from grayscale: an ombre-style orange to red fade appears on both the lateral and medial midfoot’s branded details. Down below, a white EVA foam midsole contains ASICS’ signature GEL cushioning in the heel while also utilizing red midfoot and heel shanks for extra support. A black, white and grey outsole completes the look.
